Over 5,000 signatures delivered to Co-op HQ!
The petition to stop 1 on 1 shifts at the Co-op, signed by over 5,000 workers, was handed into Co-op HQ in Manchester yesterday.
Co-op staff Maria, Nyall, Rhia, Ann and Tonya travelled to HQ from all across the country to give in the petition and have a meeting with the Head of Retail PR to explain why 1 on 1 shifts are so unsafe.
They shared their own personal experiences of tough 1 on 1 shifts and talked through some of the thousands of stories that were sent in by other Co-op colleagues. They also handed out collections of worker stories to Co-op staff - you can check out the booklet here: https://www.organise.org.uk/s/coopbooklet.pdf
Co-op have promised to let us know what they plan to change within a few weeks. And there are now 5,000 staff in the Organise community - so we’ll vote together on the next steps to make sure we win this campaign.
